Two Games in One Day

10-13-09
Potato Bowl was on Saturday.  UND’s band didn’t march in the parade.  It was way too cold.  The poor clarinets wouldn’t have survived.  In high school, marching in the parade was the highlight of the year… maybe it was because it was the only time we marched.  Now, the parade’s just another part of so much else.  Saturday was still really fun, except it was really exhausting.
First I got up for breakfast with the low brass section at Perkins.  I woke up at about seven thrity for that.  After breakfast we went to the Alerus center to practice.  Then we went out to play for the team.  After that played for the tailgaters.  Pretty much routine stuff… pregame show, playing in the stands, half time show.
The reason it was so exhausting was because after the football game, there was a hockey game.  I was so tired from the football game that I didn’t have too much energy left for the hockey game.  This weekend is going to be more intense.  There’s two men’s hockey games, two women’s hockey games, and a football game.  Although, I can’t play at one of the games because it’s during the football game.  I look forward to it though.
