To Blog or Not to Blog

Okay, so about blogging… I like blogging, and it really doesn’t surprise me.  I like anything to do with writing really.  The best part is rambling my thoughts across the screen in a somewhat organized fashion.  I’ve written way more blogs than what was required for class, but I really slacked on the ones that were.  For example I have to finish three blogs in an hour and a half.  Hopefully I can get that done.  I still can’t think of a remembered conversation one.

Anyway, the downside to blogging was that I didn’t journal as much, which is something I’d say I have a passion for.  Of course, I did fill up a journal sometime last month and haven’t bought a new one.  So blogging has been able to fill that gap.  And obviously if I filled up a journal, I wasn’t lacking in my journaling time all that much.

There’s also the problem of the distraction.  I’m addicted to the internet- facebook, game sites, gaia.  And for those of you that don’t know what gaia is, it’s my favorite website in the world of cyberspace.  It’s an online roll playing forum.  Before you think I’m a geek, which I really won’t deny, roll playing is no different than writing only with other people.  At least the way I do it.  Anyway, back on topic.  Blogging is a distraction.  It’s another thing on the internet that I have become addicted too.  In fact, the other day I completely missed one of my classes because I lost track of time while blogging.  And anytime I want to avoid doing my homework or something else, I’ll write a blog.

So will I continue to blog?  Most definitely.  The negative consequences don’t outweigh the good.  Actually, I really don’t care much about the negative consequences because I’ll find a way to yank myself away from the computer at some point in time.  I really like the idea of writing for others to read it if they want.  I don’t think I’m really a writer that writes for people to read, but when it comes down to it that’s really the point, isn’t it?  One day I’d like to have something published.  Anyway, my point is even though my creative writing class is almost done with, I will continue to keep this thing updated.
